Patricia A. MacConnell, age 78, passed away peacefully Nov. 29, 2022.
Patricia was born on March 17, 1944, in Batavia, N.Y., to Anthony and Theresa (Tenney) Bartz.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Larry MacConnell, of 34 years. Patricia enjoyed traveling with her husband, friends and family, sewing, painting and spending time with her friends in Naomi’s Circle. She was the best Mom and Nana to her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchild, always taking the time to play with them and attend their sporting events. Her greatest joys were being a wife, mom and nana.
Besides her husband, Patricia is survived by her daughter, Lori (Matthew) Laney; grandchildren, Caitlyn (Jacob) Swiatowy, Joshua Bradley, Jacob Laney and great-grandson, Mason Swiatowy; stepchildren, Deborah Johnson (Ray Coniber), Dwight MacConnell (Vicki Chatel); step-grandchildren, Ashley MacConnell, Katherine MacConnell and Victoria MacConnell; siblings, Eloise Brown, Gerald Bartz; sisters-in-law, Norma Bartz and Rosie Bartz (Ed Olczak). Patricia is predeceased by brothers, Norman, Richard and Gary Bartz; sisters-in-law, Nancy MacConnell and Shirley (George) Hankey. Also surviving are her very special nieces and nephews, Jodi (Bob) Hollwedel, Lisa Wall, Paula Dean, Gary Bartz, Cheryl (Tony) Hurd, and Jim (Cheryl) Bartz; she is predeceased by nephews, Duane Brown and Joseph Dean.
Patricia was a loving, kind and generous spirit, always putting others before herself. Her presence and smile would light up a room. Our lives will never be the same without her.
There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Bergen Methodist Church on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the presence of immediate family at Grandview Cemetery in Batavia.
